Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks died after struggling a deadly head damage throughout a tragic Fourth of July incident at a house in Novi, Michigan. He was 24.
“There seems to have been a fireworks malfunction, which brought on a gaggle of individuals to flee from the new tub, together with the deceased, who slipped and hit his head on the concrete,” Lt. Jason Meier of the Novi Police Division stated in an announcement to ESPN. Kivlenieks was pronounced useless after being taken to a neighborhood hospital by medical personnel on Sunday night.
As information of the NHL star’s demise emerged, many followers and fellow members of the sports activities neighborhood paid tribute to him. “We’re shocked and saddened by the lack of Matiss Kivlenieks, and we prolong our deepest sympathies to his mom, Astrida, his household and buddies throughout this devastating time,” John Davidson, Blue Jackets President of Hockey Operations, stated Monday, July 5. “Kivi was an impressive younger man who greeted every single day and everybody with a smile and the influence he had throughout his 4 years with our group is not going to be forgotten.”
